Grahame Marshall
After graduating from Durham University with a BSc Honours Degree in chemistry, Grahame commenced training for his professional examinations in London. Three years later he came to Leicester to enjoy the wider experience that this practice still offers.
Grahame has a wide engineering experience including fluid and general mechanics, automobile braking systems and avionics. He also has significant experience in licensing. He travels regularly to Japan to maintain contact with the firm’s many clients there.
Grahame has prosecuted and defended disputes in the Patents County Court and before the European Patent Office, where he has had considerable success. Because of his experience, Grahame was also awarded one of the UK’s first Patent Litigator Certificates, which allows him to conduct intellectual property litigation in the High Court, and he has obtained a Master of Laws degree in Intellectual Property Litigation. This training, experience and legal qualification puts Serjeants in the rare position of being able to offer an unbroken chain of personal care to clients in preparing patent and trade mark applications, prosecuting them through to grant and enforcing them in the courts.
Grahame has for many years been an active member of Council for FICPI-UK.
In his spare time, Grahame enjoys horse riding and owns a small farm. He finds an outdoor life the best way of relaxing after the demands of a working day.
